On to some couple time and list making. And what a treat! Because we all know how difficult it can be for us to slip-in a single line of serious or meaningful conversation amidst our demanding schedules and two toddlers who have so much to share already. We sat together in our balcony discussing our goals, wishes and dreams all over again, but this time, with a united focus. What we came up with were resolutions that we found, cover our basic daily routine, our shorter-term dreams, some of our longer-term dreams, building habits and life skills, and developing hobbies. We came to decide on these resolutions based on how we visualise our life now, what we seek for our lives to be in the future – individually and as a family.  The resulting list of resolutions encompass elements that can help us start afresh with a renewed focus, enrich our lives further and enable a healthy lifestyle.

Coming to achieving these resolutions. We know it is going to be a process, it always is and we will probably be doing the tango with a step forward and several backward; but that’s where we are going to make sure we have fun and we will be sure to share it with you. One cannot pass over a good dance! As part of a blog series on achieving our resolutions, I will be linking my related blog articles here, below their respective resolutions, as I explore the habits, goals, skills and values that go into making a sustainable healthy lifestyle that is relevant to our constantly evolving context.

Here’s our list of Resolutions for this year that we hope will play a relevant role in building a good foundation for our happiness now and beyond.

  1. Implement daily routine successfully
  2. Build up quality interaction with the kids
  3. Make weekends count with family
  4. Drink 3 litres of water daily
  5. Establish healthy and effective meal planning
  6. Plan at least one meaningful family vacation
  7. Be on time
  8. Reduce ‘unnecessary’ and ‘unhealthy’ bills
  9. Define and work on a new hobby (each family member) for the year and support each other in it
  10. Maintain monthly budget and find the most effective method of budgeting, increase savings
